These directions were written for Win98, but (for the most part) works exactly the same for other operating systems:
  1. Open up your Control Panel (Start -> Settings -> Control Panel)
  2. Double-Click on 'ODBC Data Sources (32bit)'
  3. A new window called 'ODBC Data Source Administrator' will open
  4. Click on the 'System DSN' tab
  5. Click on the 'Add...' button
  6. A new window called 'Create New Data Source' will open
  7. Click on the 'Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)'
  8. Click on the 'Finish' button
  9. A new window called 'ODBC Microsoft Access Setup' will open
  10. Next to 'Data Source Name:' type in the name for your data source. Use 'CIS237' followed by your initials.
  11. Click on the 'Select...' button under 'Database:'
  12. A new window called 'Select Database' will open
  13. Browse to the folder where you placed your database and select it.
  14. Click on the 'OK' button to close the 'Select Database' window
  15. The path and database name must now appear next to 'Database:'
  16. Click on the 'OK' button to close the 'ODBC Microsoft Access Setup' window
  17. Click on the 'OK' button to close the 'ODBC Data Source Administrator' window
